| Purpose | The Commission has the quasi-judicial duty of conducting hearings and making decisions on issues involving compliance with a number of City policies to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and to ensure equality of treatment and opportunity to all, regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, marital status, disability, source of lawful income or gender orientation. |
| Membership | The Commission has nine members who represent the community at large. |
| Appointment | Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Commission on the first Monday in January. |
| Term | Each member's term is for three years. Membership is subject to the Service Limitation Policy. |
| Meetings | The Commission meets in the Equal Employment Opportunity Conference Room 811 in City Hall at 3:30 p.m. on the Second Thursday of each month. The Commission normally does not meet during the months of July and August. 2010 Meeting Schedule. |
